The RYA Sailing Schemes are designed to take you from absolute beginner through to competent sailor and beyond. Combined with practise between stages, the courses aim to give you the foundations for a lifetime of confident sailing.

Private Tuition
Depending on our Instructor Availability there are times when we can offer Private Tuition.
This form of Tuition is a useful way of focusing on improving skills to suit your particular requirements. It also offers the opportunity for Instruction for people who don’t have the time or inclination to commit to RYA courses which are a minimum of 2 days and generally longer.
It is a great way for adults or youngsters to find out if they think they will like sailing before actually committing to a course.
We can take up to 3 people per instructor.
Private Tuition is often available at weekends as well as during the week. Call our office to discuss options to suit you.
Boat Hire
We have 4 Wayfarers available for hire (maximum 3 people per boat) by the day, ½ day or over the course of a few days.
A great choice for a fun weekend is for groups of friends to get together and hire all 4 Wayfarers from us - groups that do this very often stay on board Egremont as well (don’t forget we have a bar on board!) which helps to make an inexpensive but really enjoyable couple of days.
To hire a boat from us the nominated helm needs to be qualified to RYA level 2 or equivalent.
For groups where less experienced or less confident sailors are involved we can also provide safety boat cover – so everything is possible!
