The Island Cruising Club (ICC), Salcombe, Devon has over 60 years experience of RYA yacht courses and yachting training. We have a pedigree matched by no others. The ICC, Salcombe, Devon is regarded as one of the best places in the UK to learn yachting.
Salcombe’s southern location on the very tip of Devon provides for a warm climate and excellent sailing conditions, perfect for yachting.
Learn to crew or skipper a yacht, while sailing around the beautiful Devon and Cornwall coastline. Or sail across to the Channel Islands on a 5 day cruise. Our Delphia 37 yacht ‘Island Spirit’ can accommodate up to 5 crew members and a skipper.
A 2 day Start Yachting weekend is an ideal way to find out if you enjoy cruising and would like to gain RYA qualifications. RYA courses will give you all the necessary skills and certificates to charter your own boat.

For the duration of your sailing courses your accommodation will be on board the ICC Delphia 37’ yacht, ‘Island Spirit’. There will be a maximum of 5 in the crew plus your Skipper/Instructor. If you have a party less than 5 the ICC will try to team you up with other people interested or you may book the whole yacht for your exclusive use. The ICC welcome individuals, families, friends and small business groups.
