The Staff

On board Egremont, our instructors are chosen for their combination of qualifications, experience, patience, good humour, awareness of safety issues and their ability to work with young people. All staff are qualified to the relevant National Governing Bodies (NGB) requirement.

Safety

Safety is our prime consideration and the centre operates within the guidelines set down by the NGB’s and the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority. We are a recognised RYA Training Centre.

Examples of our committment to safety

• All group leaders have either VHF or mobile phone communications with base.
• All instructional staff are first aid qualified whilst all duty managers are first aid at work trained as required by the health and safety (first aid) regulations 1981.
• All relevant safety equipment is provided for activities.
• Our standard operating procedures contain a full set of risk assessments.
