Level 1 & 2 – Start Sailing/Basic Skills

4 - 6 days

A week to progress from apprehensive beginner to the enjoyment that comes from confidence afloat. An introduction to the sport leading to becoming a competent sailor in light winds. An introduction to sailing techniques and manoeuvres, rigging, launching, safety, capsize recovery and basic rules of the road. This course is normally taught in Wayfarer dinghies (or Squibs if you choose the keelboat option) with up to 3 students in the boat with an Instructor. You may find, as you progress, that the Instructor will move to teaching from a safety boat nearby to introduce more independent sailing.
