The Island Cruising Club
ICC Salcombe (Island Cruising Club) is a sailing and sail training centre based in South Devon, UK. We offer sailing holidays, short & weekend breaks with tuition or RYA courses for beginner to Yachtmaster, for children and adults alike. The ICC is based in the Salcombe and Kingsbridge estuary, one of the most beautiful in South West England and offers sailing both in a protected tidal harbour and at sea. Our fleet is one of the largest in the UK, from exciting single handed dinghies suitable for both children and adults to high performance keel boats and sea going yachts.

You have come to the right place to learn how to sail. The ICC at Salcombe has been teaching people for over 50 years. As a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) recognised sail training centre you can be assured that you are in professional and safe hands. We teach people of all ages and capabilities so its never too late to have a go. Our retired Mersey Ferry, Egremont provides the unique location for the ICC base on the Estuary. Comfortable cabins, hot showers, a drying room, great food and a well stocked bar - there is no better way to enjoy sailing… and Salcombe!
Salcombe Town – a short ferry ride from Egremont, mixes seafaring history with party spirit for a visit ashore to remember. Salcombe lies at the mouth of the “estuary”, a truly amazing ecosystem of near Mediterranean climate which provides a home for many species of birds and plant life seldom found in Britain. Dolphins and seals are just some of the frequent visitors to the estuary waters. Designated an area of outstanding natural beauty, there are beaches, galleries, museums and scenery-filled coastal walks and the main street is lined with many shops, pubs and restaurants.
A week in Salcombe is ideal, with weekends popular for courses and club sailing. It’s up to you; extend a weekend, stay a fortnight.

Adults (18+) are welcome at all times and we usually have a good mix of ages (with the exception of cadet weeks) so you won’t feel isolated. Minimum age is 5 (for those who bring a parent) and for others it’s 10 if you are booked to stay residentially on board Egremont or 8 if you stay ashore. There’s no upper age limit and if you prefer your sailing slow and relaxed – we also have boats to suit you!
