Adult Courses
The RYA’s National Sailing Scheme is a series of 2-3 day courses for those wanting to learn to sail or progress further. It has been designed to help you enjoy whichever aspect of the sport appeals to you and accommodates a wide range of boat types: traditional dinghies, newer asymmetrical spinnaker designs and keelboats.(See our fleet page for more on boats)

Keelboats:
Generally larger than dinghies with a weighted keel for stability. Ideal if you don’t want to get wet. |
Select a course from the list below to find out more details about each module.
The ICC offers all the modules shown in the above diagram. Each module is a 2 to 3 day course so you can develop skills over a series of weekends. We also offer combinations of modules as a 4 to 6 day course, allowing space to cement the skills learned.
Sailing is a sport which gets better with practice, and you should try to sail between courses whenever you can. Practice makes perfect! After level 2 you can join one of our ICC progressive courses to cement skills, try different boats and get more practice under the watchful eye of a qualified Instructor.
